Danielle Brans, a.k.a Lexxxa
(The Netherlands)
My performance work is often
economical and elegant. I have made aestetic choices about the
formal elements of the piece, what to wear, how I move and the
way I handle objects. There is a sense of ritual in these actions
that frame the piece in a "larger than life" dimension.
I will distilll these formal elements into minimal action. This
economy allows the audience to engage on many different levels.
While the action may be stark and simple; the meaning often
unfolds in surprising and complex ways.
